There are 3 ways to create a template.

  • Use an existing Buildxact template and customise it
  • Creating a template from an estimate you have already done
  • Creating a new template from scratch

Use an existing Buildxact template and customise it

  1. In the Navigation menu, click on Estimates > Templates
  2. Find a template you want to use
  3. Click the green + button to the right of the template
  4. In the pop that appears, fill in all the relevant data for the new estimate, and click to copy all the items across (see below), then click OK to open the estimate

            7. When the estimate opens up, you can customise it - add, delete or amend all the detail/data in order to make your own template to use over                 and over again.

            8. To make this a "Template" you will have to change the status of the estimate. The status bar is at the top of the estimate. Click on this                                and choose TEMPLATE from the list. This will then add this estimate into the list of Templates already in the Template menu.

Creating a template from an estimate you have already done

  1. In the Navigation menu, click on Estimates
  2. Find the estimate you want to use
  3. Click the blue copy button to the right of the template
  4. In the pop that appears, fill in all the relevant data for the new estimate, and click to copy only the items across that you would like to use, (see below), then click OK to open the estimate

            5. In order to make this a "Template" you will have to change the status of the estimate. The status bar is at the top of the estimate. Click on this                 and choose TEMPLATE from the list. This will then add this estimate into the list of Templates already in the Template menu.

Creating a new template from scratch

  1. In the Navigation menu, click on Estimates > Templates
  2. Click the green + button to the top right of the screen
  3. Start it as though you were starting an estimate

NOTE:  When you want to use templates you have created, from the templates menu, click the + button to the right of the template, if you click into                    the template and set it up that way, you then lose that template as it will then move into DRAFT status.
